What you’re getting
This is a modern keyboard with a US English layout. The keys are black. It is precisely designed to fit directly into your ProBook’s chassis the same way the original did. The ribbon cable is already attached, so you don’t need to transfer anything from your old keyboard.
It’s compatible with the HP ProBook 440 G6, 440 G7, 445 G6, and 445 G7 series. It also works with the 445R G6 and 445R G7 models. If your laptop is one of these, this keyboard is the right physical match, though as with any replacement part, there can be small variations depending on when and where your laptop was manufactured. To completely eliminate all doubts, verify compatibility with us first before purchase.
Why you might need this
Laptop keyboards take a beating. Every keystroke adds wear. Spills happen. Dust and crumbs find their way underneath. Over months and years, the keys that get used most often,E, A, spacebar, backspace, start to feel different. Softer. Mushier. Sometimes they stop working entirely.
The good news is that a keyboard replacement is the most cost-effective ways to extend the life of your laptop when you are facing these kind of issues. You don’t need to spend money on a new machine. You just need to replace the part that’s failing.
Before you order
Here’s something important. Two laptops with the exact same model number can sometimes have different keyboards. The cable connector might be in a slightly different position. The mounting points might vary.
We make this easy for you. Instead of relying on model lists, click the verify compatibility check button. Send us a photo of your current keyboard, the whole layout, and if you can, the cable underneath. Our team will look at it and tell you whether this keyboard is the correct match. It takes a couple of minutes and saves you from ordering the wrong part.
What if you order and it doesn’t fit?
We’ve got you covered. If this keyboard is not compatible with your specific laptop, you can return it within 7 days of delivery (subject to policy). Just contact us and we’ll help you sort it out.
That said, checking compatibility with us first is still the smarter move. It saves you the delays of shipping something back.
installation
Replacing a laptop keyboard is a plug and play project. It’s not difficult if you’re careful, but it does require patience. You’ll need to power down your laptop, remove the battery, take out the screws holding your old keyboard, disconnect the ribbon cable, connect the new one, and screw everything back in place.
The most common issue people run into after installation is that some keys don’t work. In almost every case, this happens because the ribbon cable isn’t fully seated. The fix is simple: disconnect it and reconnect it, pushing firmly but gently until it clicks or sits flush.
If you’re not comfortable doing this yourself, any professional technician can handle it in a few minutes. (if you do not have accesses to anyone, we will recommend a qualified technician to you)
What about quality?
Every keyboard we ship is tested before it leaves us. Each key is checked. The cable is inspected. We don’t send out parts that haven’t been verified to work.
The bottom line
Your HP ProBook 440 G7 has plenty of life left in it. Don’t let a worn-out keyboard convince you otherwise. Get the replacement, confirm compatibility with us first, and get back to productive and frustration-free working.
